Cafe naz maintains a classic Indian identity with ultra modern fittings. Customers are welcomed in the bar and seating area complete with a crescent of fashionable, soft minimalist seats facing a chic wooden bar.

The service is polite without being stuffy, a standard witch is maintained throughout the evening. Cafe naz's family ownership and management have created a warm caring environment, a rarity in restaurants of this high caliber.The food is simply divine, and at its currently deflated prices, is a treat not to be missed.

The quite clientele sit in both large parties and couples, with views of Cardiff bay and St. David's hotel and in the summer food will be served on the balcony of mermaid quay. Entertainment includes a vast (yet amazingly unobtrusive) screen silently playing the best of Hollywood and occasionally traditional Indian dancers. The Kitchen probes the seating area with a bay of plate glass behind witch a body of staff brought to Wales from throughout indo Asia work. Cafe Naz has been in Cardiff for just six weeks, but has steady flow of customers. The restaurant and family's base is is brick Lane, London from witch they have maintained a high place in the UK Indian restaurant community. Cafe Naz started serving during Cardiff's ongoing Indian food festival under globe trotting chef Stephen James Gomes who is now staying on in Cardiff; a welcome addition to Cardiff's culinary community.

Stephen has traveled throughout the world, studying and serving in South Africa, Thailand, Bangladesh and India, his Birthplace. He has brought this experience to Cardiff providing a vast array of succulent authentic Asian dishes from the finest traditions of Eastern Cuisine. There are 30 starters 32 main courses and a extensive wine and beer list. Such dished get no better than this.

The non vegetable platter is a feast for two, with two type of chicken (tikka and tandoori) , lamb seekhabab, pahadi each given in ample portions sending ones tastebuds on a dazzling journey through rarely visited parts on one palette.

A visit to cafe naz is more than recommendable especially during these introductory months. With Stephen at the helm, good ship Naz is heading for sparkling waters.
